Sonia Dodd (she/her)

Sonia is a Malaysian-Australian creative with a Communication / Theatre degree from Charles Sturt University. She’s a producer with Darlinghurst Theatre Company and is undertaking ATYP’s Fresh Ink Playwriting Program. Her lockdown hobbies included tap dancing, learning the violin and studying a Grad Cert in Psychological Science.
Sonia originated the role of Schapelle Corby in the musical Schapelle, Schapelle (Piano Room Productions) and plays Tara in TikTok series The Formal (SLAG Productions/ Screen Australia). Sonia’s training includes NIDA’s Screen Actors Studio and workshops with Makhampom Art Space in Thailand and the Prague Quadrennial series. She is passionate about celebrating diversity and Inclusivity.

Fruit Box Theatre acknowledges the Traditional Owners of country and their continuous connection to lands, water and culture. We pay our respects to Elders past and present. Fruit Box operates primarily on the stolen lands of the Gadigal and Wangal peoples of the Eora nation, of which sovereignty was never ceded.
